SURG

The US SOCOM published a solicitation in 2016 for a Suppressed Upper Receiver Group (SURG) to upgrade the M4A1. The SURG allows the warfighter ’ s weapon (M4A1) to be optimized for continuous suppressed use. The SURG requirement is tailored to the current and future needs of Special Operations Forces (SOF) operators. The needs are based on years of field and training experience. The SURG will provide the most reliable, safe, and dependable assault weapon possible. FERFRANS joined the US SOCOM SURG program and this suppressed upper re ceiver was designed to meet the US SOCOM specifications.
